이 논문은 최순우 선생의 학문적 생애와 업적에 대해서 간략하게 살펴본 글이다. 선생께서 걸어간생애와 업적을 학문적으로 정리하는 것도 일정한 의미가 있다고 생각된다. 이를 바탕으로 좀 더 깊이있는 논의가 있기를 고대해 마지않는다. 다시 한 번 강조하지만 혜곡 선생은 평생을 시종일관 국립박물관에서만 근무했던 최초의 진정한박물관맨이고 학문적으로 한국미술사를 개척한 개성 3 걸 가운데 맏형이다. 특히 한국도자사와 한국회화사를 한국 처음으로 전공한 개척자일 뿐만 아니라 우현 고유섭 선생에 이어 한국미 탐구를 진정으로 체득한 유일한 선구자로 자타가 공인하고 있다. 선생의 탄생 100 주년을 맞아 선생의 학문적생애와 업적을 간략하게나마 선생의 영전에 올릴 수 있게 된 점, 제자의 한사람으로 기쁘게 생각하며더욱 감사말씀을 올린다.
Abstract
This study is a brief review of Choi Sun-wu's academic life and achievements. I think it is also meaningful to organize his academic life and achievements with which he went through. Based on this, I look forward to a more in-depth discussion. As I put an emphasis once again, Hyegok is the first true museum man who has been working in the National Museum of Korea for the rest of his life, and he is the eldest brother of the three Gaesung outstanding figures who pioneered Korean art history academically. In particular, in addition to his being a pioneer in Korean ceramics history and Korean painting history in Korea for the first time, it is accredited by everyone that he is the only pioneer who has truly experienced the exploration of Korean beauty following Wu-hyeon Ko Yu-seop. In the 100th anniversary of his birth, as one of the disciples, I am pleased to be able to place brief explanations of his academic life and achievements before the spirit of the forerunner, and I would also like to express my gratitude to him.
