고려 아미타8대보살도(9존도)의 도상학 연구

Abstract

The painting of Amitabha Eight Great Bodhisattivas in Goryeo dynasty is regarded as a very important Buddha painting which represents Buddha paintings in Goryeo dynasty. First, Amitabha Eight Great Bodhisattivas comefrom three types of Sutras such as Sukhavatavyuha Sutra and Dharani Sutra, Eight Great Bodhisattiva Mandara Sutra. In other words, it can be said that Goryeo Amitabha Eight Great Bodhisattivas made the most use of Dharani Sutra's Eight Great Bodhisattivas based on Sukhavatavyuha Sutra, and founded it with reference to Eight Great Bodhisattiva Mandara Sutra. Second, it is the most plausible to see that the composition thoughts of Amitabha Eight Great Bodhisattiva painting are three Pure Land Sutras (Sukhavatavyuha Sutra, Gwan_Sukhavatavyuha Sutra, Amitabha Sutra) and of them the thoughts of Sukhavatavyuha Sutra were the basis. The 40 (四十) Avatamsaka Sutra Bohyeonhaengwonpum corresponding to the Avatamsaka Sutra Ipbeopgyepum is often said to be the thoughtful basis, but it should not be overlooked that this is only secondary thoughts. Third, the layout of painting of Amitabha Eight Great Bodhisattiva is classified into five types, which revealed that the layout came from the fact that the order in which the Eight Great Bodhisattivas were arranged in four rows was changed back and forth.
