Abstract
This paper discusses the effect of financial market on the anomaly between the real exchange rate and the relative consumption with a spectrum analysis. Although the new open macroeconomic model with incomplete and imperfect financial market improves the cross correlation between the real exchange rate and the relative consumption as in the data, the spectrum analysis in frequency domain and Watson (1993)'s RMSAE show that the model with imperfect and incomplete financial market structure model still fails in generating the shape of the real exchange rate as in the data. In particular, the spectrum of the real exchange rate in business cycle frequency generated from the model does not match the spectrum of the real exchange rate generated from the data.
