사회적 네트워크 형성요인이 개인의 단체참여에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 사회적 네트워크 형성과 관련된 사회인구학적 특성들이 개인의 단체참여에 미치는 영향을 2010년 통계청 인구주택총조사 자료를 활용하여 분석함으로써 우리나라 국민들의 사회참여 현상과 그 의미를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 사회적 네트워크 형성요인을 교육수준, 활동장애, 접근성, 경제활동, 배우자 등으로 각각 설정하고, 이러한 형성요인들이 단체참여의 수준 및 8가지 단체참여 유형에 각각 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 한편, 경제활동과 관련된 특성은 임금근로자 및 자영업자와 같은 종사자형태 및 근속년수로 분류하여 단체참여와의 관련성을 추가적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회적 네트워크 형성요인과 단체참여 수준간의 관련성을 분석한 결과, 교육수준, 통근-통학 접근성, 경제활동, 배우자 존재가 개인의 단체참여에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 활동제약은 단체참여에 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 임금근로자보다 종업원을 둔 자영업자일수록 단체참여 정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 8가지 단체참여 유형별로 표본집단 간 참여수준 차이를 분석한 결과, 단체참여 유형별로 표본집단 간 참여수준 차이가 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 단체참여 유형별로 사회적 네트워크 형성요인과 단체참여와의 관련성을 각각 분석한 결과, 8가지 단체참여 유형별로 설명변수들과의 관련성 차이가 각각 존재하였다. 이러한 결과는 사회적 네트워크 형성요인이 단체참여에 미치는 영향에 있어서 참여하는 단체의 유형에 따라 참여수준이 다르다는 사실도 추가적으로 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to consider the phenomenons and meaning of social participation by analyzing the relation between socio-demographic characteristics and social activities in terms of social networks. Socio-demographic characteristics are consisted of five variables which are on the education, disabilities, access of commuting, economic activity, and spouse. We set additional explanatory variables related to economic activity, which are on the type and years of working. We set dependent variables as the level of participation in 8-social activities and analyzed the relation with each explanatory variable. The results of this study are as follows, first, the high level of education, access of commuting, economic activity and the existence of spouse had a positive effect on participating in social activities. On the other hand, the high level of disabilities had a negative effect on the participation in social activities. The type of owner-operator had more positive effect than paid-worker on the participation in social activities. Second, we found that there were significant differences between explanatory and dependent variables in each type of 8-social activities. Finally, we found that there were significant differences in the level of participation among groups in 8-social organizations.
