장사상륙작전에서의 정신적 전투력 연구

본 연구의 목적은 장사상륙작전과 작전에 투입되었던 소년병과 학도의용군을 전쟁에서의 군인정신 교육자료로 활용하기 위함이다. 장사상륙작전은 평균 18∼19세의 청소년들이 자발적으로 참전하여 적지에서 전투했다는 것만으로도 높게 평가되어야 하지만, 인천상륙작전의 기만작전 정도로 인식되어 ‘작전에 투입된 그들이 누구이고, 어떻게 싸웠고, 무엇이 그들의 가슴을 그토록 뜨겁게 달구어 하나 되게 했는지’에 대한 연구는 부족하다. 또한, 전장의 마찰 요소를 어떤 정신적 요소가 작용하여 그것을 극복할 수 있게 했는지에 대한 분석기준도 미흡한 것이 사실이다. 이러한 것을 해소하기 위해 본 연구는 클라우제비츠의 전쟁의 마찰과 정신적 요소의 개념을 활용하여 장사상륙작전에서의 마찰과 그것을 극복한 정신적 전투력을 분석하였다. 연구를 통해 전장에서 ‘대담성은 위험을 극복하는 힘을 주었고, 끈기는 육체적 피로를 이겨내게 했으며, 용맹은 불확실성이 가득한 전장에서 용감하게 행동하게 하고, 단체정신은 서로를 믿고 전장의 마찰과 우연성을 극복’하는 힘이 되어 준 것을 확인했다. 또한, 전쟁에서 정신적 요소를 전장 상황과 연계하여 이해하고 찾는 방법을 제시했고, 장사상륙작전과 그 구성원들의 정신적 전투력을 더 잘 이해할 수 있는 계기를 마련한 것에 의의가 있다. 향후 이러한 시도들은 전쟁사에 대한 이해도 높이고, 그 과정에서 정신적 전투력의 요소를 찾고 향상하는 데도 도움이 될 것이라고 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyse the actions of teenage soldiers and Student volunteers during in the Jangsa Landing Operation as educational materials for enhancing Fighting spirit in war. The Jangsa Landing Operation should be highly regarded just because young people between the ages of 18 and 19 voluntarily participated in the war and fought on enemy ground, but since it is perceived as a deception operation of the Incheon Landing Operation, there is a lack of research on “who they were involved in the operation, how they fought, and what made their hearts so warm and united.” Also, it is true that there are insufficient analytical standards for what moral mental factors contributed to overcoming the friction factor on the battlefield. In order to resolve this, this study used Clausewitz’s concept of friction and mental factors in war to analyze friction in the Jangsa Landing Operation and the fighting spirit that overcame it. Research has confirmed that on the battlefield, audacity gave us strength to overcome risk, persistence helped us overcome physical fatigue, courage made us act bravely on a battlefield full of uncertainty, and team spirit helped us trust each other and overcome friction and coincidence on the battlefield. And, it is significant that this study proposed a way to understand and find mental elements in war by linking them to battlefield conditions, and provided an opportunity to better understand the Jangsa Landing Operation and the fighting spirit of its members. It is hoped that in the future, these attempts will help improve understanding of war history and find and improve the elements of the Fighting spirit in the process.
