초록
People are exposed to various consumer chemicals products whose toxicity is not well characterized. Among them, plastics are one of the most widely used household chemical products that many people encounter in daily life. In particular, the safety of chemical substances migrated from plastic containers and packages for foods needs to be properly assessed because a number of low-molecular substances including additives, may be directly ingested orally. Because there are many migrated substances with insufficient toxicity data, TTC approach is useful for risk assessment of various house hold chemical product, instead of conventional animal experiments. Here, migration experiments were conducted with fatty food simulants for the five most distributed materials in Korea, and non-target screening analysis was performed with GC-MS. The migrated chemicals were either intentionally added to plastics or unintentionally produced. In order to confirm its safety, risk assessment was conducted by applying the actual toxicity guidance value if available, or the TTC values for respective Cramer class. The risk was about 1.6 times different between two approach, confirming that it is possible to use the TTC for risk assessment of various house hold chemical products.
