본 연구는 은퇴자를 위한 고령친화대학원 설립을 위한 배경과 실현 방안을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 비체계적 문헌고찰(nonsystematic literature review) 방법을 활용하였다. 저출산과 고령화, 지방대학 위기, 고령친화대학, 평생교육 관련 키워드를 통해 검색된 문헌들을 선별하여 분석하였으며, 도출된 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 저출산과 고령화로 인한 총인구 감소와 지방인구 소멸, 시니어 시프트 등의 시대적 환경요인을 도출했다. 둘째, 학령인구 감소로 인한 지방대학의 위기를 도출했다. 셋째, 해외의 고령친화대학의 사례를 통해 시사점을 도출했고, 끝으로 국내 사정을 반영한 고령친화대학원 설립의 방향과 방안을 제시하였다. 고령친화대학원이 국내 적용되기 위해서는 재학생과 졸업생의 정착을 위한 지자체의 적극적인 지원이 필요하며, 이를 통해 인구소멸 지역의 인구 유입과 학령인구의 급격한 감소로 인한 위기의 지방대학 활성화를 기대할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to derive the necessity and implementation plan for the establishment of an age-friendly graduate school for retirees. To this end, we conducted a literature review on lifelong education with age-friendly universities at home and abroad, and the findings are as follows. First, the need for an age-friendly graduate school was suggested due to the environmental factors, such as a decrease in the total population due to a low birth rate and aging, annihilation of the local population, and the senior shift, and the need for self-sufficiency measures at local universities due to the decrease in the school-age population. Second, implications were drawn from the cases of overseas age-friendly universities, and finally, the necessity and expected effects of establishing an age-friendly graduate school reflecting the domestic circumstances were presented. In order for the aging-friendly graduate school to be applied in Korea, active support from local governments is required for the settlement of current students and graduation characteristics. Through this, it can be expected to revitalize local universities in crisis due to the influx of population in depopulated areas and the rapid decrease in the school-age population.
