본 연구는 탈부착형 이원추진장치를 적용한 수동휠체어의 사용성 평가 척도를 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 기존 수동휠체어는 동일한 근육과 관절을 반복적으로 사용해야 하며, 이로 인해 어깨 통증 및 신체적 부담이 증가한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 이원추진장치가 개발되었으며, 해당 보조기기의 효과적인 활용을 위해 객관적이고 체계적인 사용성 평가가 필요하다. 그러나 현재 사용되는 평가 척도는 해외에서 개발된 도구를 번역하여 활용하는 경우가 많아 국내 사용자 요구를 충분히 반영하지 못하고 있으며, 특수한 기능을 평가하는 데 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내 사용자 특성과 이원추진장치의 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 사용성 평가 척도를 개발하였다. 연구 방법으로 문헌 조사와 전문가 자문을 통해 7가지 평가 항목을 선정하고, 각 항목별 세부 문항을 도출하여 평가 척도를 구성하였다. 이후 전문가 자문회의를 통해 척도의 타당성을 검토하고 수정 과정을 거쳐 최종적으로 45개 문항으로 구성된 평가 척도를 완성하였다. 평가 도구는 리커트 5점 척도를 적용하여 사용자의 경험과 만족도를 체계적으로 측정하도록 설계하였다. 연구 결과, 개발된 사용성 평가 척도는 실제 사용자 경험을 반영하여 개선점을 도출하는 데 효과적인 도구로 활용될 수 있으며, 특히 이원추진장치의 특성을 반영한 평가 문항을 포함하여 보다 실질적인 사용성 평가가 가능함을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 척도는 향후 유사한 보조기기 평가 연구의 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
This study aims to develop a usability evaluation scale for manual wheelchairs equipped with a detachable dual propulsion device. Traditional manual wheelchairs require repetitive use of muscles and joints, leading to significant physical strain. To address this issue, a dual propulsion device has been developed. However, a systematic usability evaluation of this assistive device is necessary, as existing scales are often translated from foreign tools and do not adequately reflect the needs of domestic users. Therefore, this study developed a customized evaluation scale incorporating both domestic user needs and device characteristics. Through a literature review and expert consultation, seven evaluation categories were selected, and a final set of 45 items was formulated. A five-point Likert scale was applied to systematically measure user experience. The developed evaluation scale serves as an effective assessment tool and is expected to contribute as a foundational resource for future assistive device research.
