이 연구는 부산 최초의 무용이론가이자，평론가 강이문（美理文 1923〜1992） 의 무용비평 활동을 부산으로 한정시켜 그의 무용비평 활동을 시기별로 분석하면서，당시의 부산무용계 발전에 주도적 역할을 하였다는 우수한 업적을 학문적으로 승화시키기 위한 기초자료로서 규명하기 위한 연구이다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 선행연구，평론，서적，신문기사，정기 간행물인 무용전문지를 수집하였고，강이문의 비평론집을 대상으로 이미 도출되어진 기존논의를 참고하였다. 그 결과 선행연구 및 기존논의에서는 강이문의 작품평론이나학술논고에 쓰여진 그의 무용비평세계에 관한 내용이 많이 차지하고 있었으며， 그의 무용비평세계는 당시의 무용계 상황에 맞게 무용계 상황을 점검하고 제언하는 등의 부산 지역 춤의 위상을 정립하는 특징을 담고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 부산의 무용평론 제1세대이며 무용이론의 선구자 강이문의 예술 활동을 시기별로 분석하여 서울을 제외한 지역 춤계에서 한 평론가에 의해 춤의 역사가 남아있는 곳은 부산이 유일하며，강이문이 부산에서 활동하지 않았다면 상당부분의 춤의 역사가 소실되었을 것이라는 사실을 통해 부산무용계의 근현대사에서 강이문의 무용비평 활동을 공적으로 규명하였다.
Abstract
This study set out to classify the dance criticism activities of Kang Yi-mun(1923~1992), who was the first dance theorist and critic of Busan, by the periods within the scope of Busan and provide basic data to academically sublimate his outstanding achievements as a primary leader in the development of dance in Busan those days. For those purposes, the investigator collected data from previous studies, dissertations, criticisms, books, newspaper articles, and periodical technical journals on dance and consulted the old discussions about his collections of criticisms. As a result, large portions of the previous studies and old discussions covered the content of his world of dance criticism in his criticisms of works and academic arguments. His world of dance criticism was characterized by his efforts to establish the status of dance in the Busan area by checking the situation of the dance circles and making proposals according to the situation. The present study analyzed the artistic activities of Kang Yi-mun, one of the first generation dance critics and pioneers in dance theory in Busan, by the periods and demonstrated his achievements in dance criticism as a pioneer of dance in Busan in early modern history including the facts that Busan is the only local city whose dance history has survived by a critic in the nation except for Seoul and that a considerable section of dance history of Busan must have been lost without his activities in the city.
