Abstract

Study on <Yeom, Dodeuri>, which was created as a motif in a Buddhist dance Lee, Hye-Jin (Pusan National University) This study analyzes Gang Miri Hal Dance Society's creative work <Yeom, Dodeuri>, which was created as a motif in a Buddhist dance. Through this, we recognize the value of newly created works based on traditional dances and look at the possibility of modern variations and motifs of traditional dances. The purpose of the project is to explore the meaning and value of an independent area different from other genres by expanding the worldview at the same time as further strengthening the realm of Korean creative dance. By analyzing the structure of <Yeom, Dodeuri>, this work was newly interpreted and dismantled using the rhythm, color, motion, and emotional motif of a Buddhist dance to create new value. First, as a motif for creative dance, it confirmed the infinite possibilities of traditional dance. Second, the creation of a new language through the transformation and dissolution of traditional dances. Third, by reinterpreting the characteristics of traditional style into a modern frame, the enhanced order and improvisational sensibility are harmonized. Fourth, having aesthetic symbolism. Based on this value, I hope various Korean creative dances that establish identity will be tried. I also hope that traditional dance will be rediscovered as a more valuable role, adding a future-oriented style as well as an original style as it is.
