Abstract
This study was conceived by the investigator's problematic consciousness that there was no legitimate research on the ideological origin of internal beauty of dance movements of "Dongraehak Dance" and uCourt Hak Dance^^ in spite of its importance. "Dongraehak Dance" and uCourt Hak Dance” embodies the images of the crane in dance, and the crane symbolizes a classical scholar and Taoist hermit with miraculous powers in the cultural heritage of Korea. As it is well-known, classical scholars and Taoist hermits with miraculous powers represent Confucianism and Taoism, respectively. Judging that it would be valid to analyze the ideological origin of "Dongraehak Dance" and uCourt Hak Dance” both in the Confucian and Taoist aspects, the study made an approach to it in the two aspects. The present study so far examined the Confucian moral beauty and Taoist natural beauty of "Dongraehak Dance" and uCourt Hak Dance” whose hand movements expressed the spiritual worlds sought after by classical scholars and Taoist hermits with miraculous powers in an artistic fashion. Its dance movements depicted the daily movements of the crane to express the Confucian moral ideas and Taoist letting nature be. In short, the findings indicate that there are the worldly Confucian moral ideas and the transcendent Taoist aesthetics of letting nature be inherent in the dance movements of "Dongraehak Dance" and uCourt Hak Dance”.
