Abstract
This article examines the cause of Anglo-American conflict in Mexico and Woodrow Wilson’s foreign policy in the early 1910s. Historians emphasize the background of clash between the two countries over nationalization of Mexican oil in the late 1930s, so they lack relatively attention to the dynamics of rivaly between the two and its effect in the early 1910s. At that time because the solution of the ‘Mexican question’ influenced American foreign policy toward the Latin America beyond Mexico’s border, Wilson tried to resolved the complicated triangular relations. By focusing on the dynamics among the three contries in the early 1910s, this article adds to the understanding of another reason of Anglo-American conflict and reveals the real intention of Wilson’s diplomacy toward Mexico and Latin America.
