순자의 학문관 고찰

Abstract

Xun zi emphasized that the person became the most precious being in the world by learning moral and courtesy through the Study. It is said that the view of Xun zi's Study was organically connected with not only argument of the Study itself but also the various theories and methods regarding the moral training related closely to Study. And it is said that the humanity needed social order keeping such as ritual and music, moral practice as a result of learning the norm, and environmental function related human relationship are important. The goals of the Study, according to Xun zi, are to cultivate great persons like Classical scholar, Gentleman, Sage by learning. To the end, the main contents of the Study is to learn the confucian Scriptures and to fulfill manners. The confucianism which is philosophy of life and has contents of practical ethics is set at the time which a man of intellect to the agony of times is standing. According to the view of Xun zi's Study, it is emphasized the person should be intellectuals and politician who society is required by learning of the Study and practice of manners. And it usually goes along with the confucian's ideal oriented inner sage and outer sovereign.
