本研究は、AIとの相互作用において日本語学習者がどのように言語管理を行うかを明らかにすることを目的とする。具体的には、日本語を使用したチャットを通じて、学習者が言語的逸脱にどのように気付き、どのような調整を実施するのかを分析対象とした。分析には言語管理理論の枠組みを用い、逸脱の留意、評価、調整という段階に着目して学習者の言語使用を考察した。その結果、指摘または反論、スタイルシフト、話題転換、ほめ、謝罪、感謝が現れ、これらは肯定的、中立的、否定的評価に基づいたものであった。AIとの相互作用における言語管理の様相は、実際の人間話者とのやり取りと類似する傾向が見られたが、人間であれば否定的評価に繋がる可能性のある誤用の場面において、中立的評価がなされる事例も観察された。これにより、AIとの相互作用は、学習者にとって現実に近い言語使用の機会を提供し、日本語教育への応用可能性を持つことが示唆される。
Abstract
This study clarifies how Japanese-language learners engage in language management when interacting with AI. Specifically, it analyzes how learners notice linguistic deviations and implement adjustments through Japanese-language chat interactions. The analysis adopted the framework of Language Management Theory, focusing on the stages of noting, evaluation, and adjustment. The results revealed such behaviors as correction or rebuttal, style-shifting, topic changes, praise, apology, and expressions of gratitude, which were based on positive, neutral, or negative evaluations. The patterns of language management observed in interactions with AI were similar to those observed in interactions with human speakers. However, in some instances, errors that might have elicited negative evaluations from human interlocutors were evaluated neutrally when interacting with AI. These findings suggest that AI interactions provide learners with opportunities for realistic language use, and they indicate the potential applicability of such interactions to Japanese-language education.
