재외동포 한국문화교육 현황 분석-재외 한국학교·한국교육원의 무용교육을 중심으로-
Analysis of the status of Korean culture education in overseas Koreans -Focusing on dance education of overseas Korean schools and Korean education centers-

The purpose of this study is to analyze the current situation of dance education at overseas Korean schools as well as Korean education centers, which are part of Korean culture education of overseas Koreans, and to clarify the meaning and value of Korean dance experience. Therefore, the status of dance education was analyzed based on the statistics and educational plans of overseas educational institutions in 2016-2018, provided by the Ministry of Education. First, Dance education has been actively conducted at 27 schools in 14 countries among 33 overseas Korean schools in 17 countries, while Korea education center conducted dance education at 9 centers in 4 countries among 39 centers in 17 countries. Second, dance education of kindergarten and elementary school in overseas Korean Schools is mostly Korean dance class, and it has been done variously in regular curriculums such as physical education, music, arts, traditional culture class and club activities. Unlike elementary school, dance education of middle and high school is mainly club activities, such as Korean dance and hip-hop dance. Third, the Korean education center's dance education is mostly Korean dance class, and the average number of students is 29 over the past three years. The Korean Education Center of Rostov-on-Don has been the most active venue for dance education, including K-pop dance classes and children's dance classes. This study is meaningful as a basic research to improve the quality of Korean dance education and establish Korean dance education network for overseas Koreans. I hope that this study will contribute to explore the value of Korean dance in Korean culture education and to pursue education that strengthens the identity of overseas Koreans.
