Abstract

Lee, Chung jun’s novel Yours’ Paradise has the language suffering in 60, 70s, it may be a work that tied especially closely society’s 70s. In order to examine these issues, we must refer to An Introduction to Language Sociology serial novel. Two works are well embodied the truth that language is the painful situation of the 1970s. Yours’ Paradise deals with in a roundabout way, An Introduction to Language Sociology serial novel deals with the suffering of language directly. Especially Yours’ Paradise offers a rich and diverse communication scene in the contemporary representations of communication problems with the body of a concrete narrative. The result of my investigation is like this. First, the communication of distrust. Second, the communication of confession. Third, dialogic communication. Fourth, ritual communication. These types of communication are staged and appeared naturally in the narrative flow and build relationships that compete with the phase of communication to be considered as more valuable. In this work, ultimately reporting the second and the third communication is granted the most valuable traffic patterns, but the first and the fourth should be overcomed. In that sense, this work shapes the unchanging main character of Jo, baek-heon. In order to overcome the distrust of communication, and to reach Cho, Baek-heon’s realization that the communication of confidence is necessary, Lee, Sang-uk’s critical eye and language is continued. The language of Lee, Sang-uk’s criticism and introspection is the essential condition of an ideal communication. Based on such a language recognition, Yours’ Paradise” is the narrative work that looks back at the fallen of modern communication, and expores the requirement of the preferred communication community.
