초록
The Turkish government has long been at odds with Kurdish nationalist movements. The current administration flirted with making peace with Kurdish nationalist groups from early on in its tenure, but as of late, shows no signs of any desire to reconcile differences. This paper explores the causality of this policy reversal and argues that the AKP has changed course in order to implement a vote-seeking strategy that negatively affects Kurdish nationalist movements in the region.
Abstract
The Turkish government has long been at odds with Kurdish nationalist movements. The current administration flirted with making peace with Kurdish nationalist groups from early on in its tenure, but as of late, shows no signs of any desire to reconcile differences. This paper explores the causality of this policy reversal and argues that the AKP has changed course in order to implement a vote-seeking strategy that negatively affects Kurdish nationalist movements in the region.
