고령 지체장애인의 장애수용과 생활만족도의 변화-장애기간별 차이

초록

본 연구는 고령 지체장애인들의 생활만족도가 자신들의 장애수용에 따라서 변화하는 정도를 살피고 있다. 특히 이 과정에서 장애수용의 영향력이 장애기간에 따라 어떤 차이를 보이는지 주목하고 있다. 분석을 위해서 장애인고용패널조사 제2차 웨이브(1~6년차) 자료를 활용하였으며, 50세 이상의 고령 지체장애인을 그 대상으로 하였다. 잠재성장모형(무조건부 모형 및 조건부 모형) 분석을 실시하였으며, 장애기간별로 장애인을 나눈 다중집단비교분석을 진행하였다. 무조건부 모형 분석 결과, 장애기간이 20년 미만이 집단에서는 시간의 흐름에 따라 장애수용 수준이 점차 낮아지는 경향을 보였으나, 20년 이상의 집단에서는 통계적으로 유의미한 경향이 발견되지는 않았다. 생활만족도는 두 집단 모두에서 시간이 지나면서 만족도가 높아지는 경향을 보였다. 이를 조건부 모형 분석으로 접근해 본 결과, 장애기간 20년 미만 집단과 20년 이상 집단 모두 장애수용의 초기값이 높을수록 생활만족도의 초기값에 영향을 미쳤으나, 그 영향력은 장애기간 20년 이상의 집단에서 더 크게 나타났다. 생활만족도 변화율에 있어서는 두 집단 간 차이가 분명하였다. 장애기간 20년 미만의 경우 장애수용의 초기값이 생활만족도 변화율에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았으나, 20년 이상의 경우는 그 영향력이 뚜렷하였다. 한편, 장애수용의 변화율이 생활만족도 변화율에 미치는 영향은 장애기간 20년 미만 및 20년 이상 두 집단 모두에서 유의하게 나타났다. 이상의 분석결과는 장애기간이 짧은 고령장애인들이 자신의 장애수용력을 증진할 전략이 필요하고, 나아가 장애수용 증진에 기초한 생활만족도 개선 전략을 요구한다. 또한 개입전략 모색과정에서 장애기간에 따른 차별성을 고려할 필요성을 제기한다.

Abstract

This study examines whether and to what extent the life satisfaction of elderly people with physical disabilities changes according to their acceptance of disabilities. In particular, special attention is paid to how the influence of disability acceptance varies depending on the period of disability. For the analysis, data from the 2nd Wave (1-6th year) of the Employment Panel Survey for the Disabled were used, and people with physical disabilities over the age of 50 were examined. A latent growth model (unconditional model and conditional model) analysis was conducted, and a multi-group comparison analysis was conducted by dividing the disabled by the period of disability. As a result of unconditional model analysis, the level of disability acceptance tended to gradually decrease over time in the group with less than 20 years of disability, but no statistically significant trend was found in the group over 20 years. Life satisfaction tended to increase over time in both groups. The initial value of disability acceptance turned out to increase the initial level of life satisfaction for both groups. Nonetheless, such effect of the initial value of disability acceptance is greater in those with more than 20 years of disability. In terms of the rate of change in life satisfaction, the difference between the two groups was clear. For those with less than 20 years of disability period, the effect of the initial value of disability acceptance on the rate of change in life satisfaction was not significant, but in the case of more than 20 years, the influence was clear. In addition, the effect of the rate of change in disability acceptance on the rate of change in life satisfaction was significant in both groups for less than 20 years of disability and more than 20 years. The above analysis results require strategies to improve their disability acceptance for elderly people with short disabilities, and furthermore, strategies to improve life satisfaction based on improving disability acceptance. It also raises the need to consider differentiation according to the period of disability in the process of seeking intervention strategies.
