교실에서 이루어지는 교사에 의한 학생평가는 학생들이 무엇을 배우고 있고 얼마나 잘 배우고 있는지를 파악하기 위한 접근이다. 따라서 교사가 학생평가를 실시함에 있어 무엇보다 중시해야 할 것은 학생의 학습활동을 이해하고 학습개선에 도움이 될 수 있도록 학생평가의 교육적 기능을 강화하는 일이다. 본 연구에서는 교실내 학생평가의 교육적 기능이 어느 정도 구현되고 있는가를 알아보기 위해 중등학교 방문과 교사대상 심층면접 및 설문조사를 통해 학교현장의 학생평가 운영실태와 교사의 학생평가활동의 실행수준을 살펴보고, 학생평가의 교육적 기능이 강화되기 위해서는 어떤 변화와 노력, 그리고 정책적 지원이 필요한지를 점검해 보았다. 학교현장에서의 학생평가 운영실태와 교사집단의 학생평가활동에 이해 및 실천 정도에 대한 탐색 및 분석 결과는 학생평가의 교육적 기능을 강화하고 교사의 평가전문성 신장을 위한 정책방안 모색에 의미있는 시사점을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
A substantial proportion of teacher's practice is devoted to activities which involve evaluation of student products and behavior, and classroom assessment by teacher has powerfully direct and indirect impact on student's learning. Particular attention should be given to teacher's professional competencies on student assessment, which requires detail informations on classroom assessment implemented. If teachers wish to improve their assessment and instruction skills, they should internalize the underlying knowledges and skills that inspire their practices and understand what is going on in the classroom. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of classroom assessment and teacher's professional competencies on student assessment. Site visits to middle and high schools are conducted to explore the level of educational function of student evaluation, and also in-depth interviews and surveys for teachers are performed to examine the school plan of student assessment and teachers' evaluation activities. It is identified that changes, efforts, and administrative supports are needed to strengthen the educational function of the classroom assessment. The results of this study can provide a set of implications that can be applied in development of teachers' professional competency and classroom assessment policy.
