대학생의 자아정체감 지위와 자아정체감 유형에 따른 심리사회적 성숙의 차이

본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 자아정체감 지위와 자아정체감 유형 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 자아정체감의 지위와 자아정체감 유형에 따른 심리사회적성숙의 차이 및 자아정체감의 유형이 관여를 매개로 심리사회적성숙에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 대학생 345명(남학생 194명, 여학생 151명)을 대상으로 자아정체감 지위 척도, 자아정체감 유형 척도, 심리사회적성숙 척도로 구성된 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자아정체감 지위에 따라 자아정체감 유형의 분포에는 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 자아정체감 성취, 유예, 유실지위는 혼미지위보다 높은 심리사회적 성숙을 보이고 있었다. 셋째, 자아정체감 유형에 따라 심리사회적성숙의 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 정보 지향적, 규범 지향적, 혼미/회피지향적 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 자아정체감 지위에 따른 관여를 확인한 결과, 성취집단은 가장 높은 수준의 관여를 보였으며 혼미집단은 가장 낮은 수준의 관여를 보였다. 그러나 유실과 유예지위의 관여수준에는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 다섯째, 자아정체감 유형과 심리사회적성숙의 관계에서 관여의 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점과 후속연구에 대해서 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study examined how Marcia's identity status and Berzonsky's identity style were related to psycho-social maturity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between identity status and Identity style and how these two variables were related to psycho-social maturity. Also, we investigate the mediating effects of commitment in the relationship between identity style and psycho-social maturity. The total of 345 college students(male 194, female 151) participated in the study. The participants completed questionnaires of identity status, identity style, psycho-social maturity. The results showed the followings. First, there were significant distinctions on frequency between identity status and identity style. Second, individuals with achievement, moratorium, foreclosure status of identity status showed much higher scores on psycho-social maturity than those with diffusion status. Third, in identity style, college students reported much higher scores on psycho-social maturity in order-information oriented, norm oriented, diffuse/avoidance oriented. Fourth, individuals with identity achievement status showed the highest commitment level whereas those with identity diffusion status showed the lowest commitment level. There were no significant differences between moratorium and foreclosure status on commitment level. Fifth, as expected, commitment variable mediated the relationship between identity style and psycho-social maturity. Limitations of the present study and suggestions for future research were discussed.
