Guo Jingming, an author, a merchant, as well as a film director,has accomplished his works successfully in every parts of his fields. However, he is often criticized by the public because traces of“plagiarism” have been found in almost all his novels. But despitethis issue, his fans continue to canonize him. This abnormalphenomenon can be explained by Azuma Hiroki's “DatabaseTheory.” Azuma states that in the post-modern era, “the granddiscourse” was replaced with “simulacre.” In the eyes of the“Post-90s generation,” there are no differences between the originaland copied works, which explains their persistent canonization ofGuo Jingming. Guo Jingming’s fans identify themselves with Guo,but distinguish themselves from the old generation. This behaviornot only demonstrates a rebellion against the old generation butalso shows an approbation of their worth. Nonetheless, this newgeneration still has a lot of possibilities to break fresh ground ofnew literature. If the old generation opens up their mind to hearthe voices of “Post-90s generation,” then Chinese literature will beable to obtain more satisfactory results.
