Abstract

This study took a close look into the process of the establishment of national identity shown in Writings written by Lee Tae-Joon. It studied the recognition of the East and West. Particularly, following points: the critical point of the Western civilization seen in the process of reacting to the Western civilization with the Eastern or Chosun dynasty culture, the point of re-discovery of the Eastern value system based on geological theory, views reckoning the controlled economy as national socialism on the basis of the modern's Transcendence etc in Writings written by Lee Tae-Joon. Therefore This study took a close look into the process of the establishment of national identity. Especially, it shed light on long novels written under the era of "new system", and "the theory of East-Asian cooperative body". At the same time it studied how he reacted to this changes of ideology and systems, and the correlation between his reaction and choice of systems after the liberalization of the nation from Japan’s colonial rule. lastly this study looked into that he tried to the establishment of national identity under the theory Ussr National socialism at the post-liberation point as he persisted the possibility of the modern’s Transcendence under Japan’s National socialism. This debate which tried to the establishment of national identity shown in Writings written by Lee Tae-Joon is not intended to sentence him not guilty in the point of national literature, nor put charges of pro-Japanese activities on Lee Tae-joon. But it is aimed to induce meanings for us living now by studying the gap between the reality and his ideals that he dreamt on the road to the formation of identify of the people.
