본 연구의 목적은 리처드 플래너건의 굴드의 어류서를 통해 밝혀진 생태제국주의적 측면과 생태페미니즘적 대안을 고찰하는 것이다. 본 연구는 플래너건의 소설 굴드의 물고기책을 중심으로 생태제국주의에서 소유와 인정을 욕망하는 가부장제의 문제점을 살펴보고, 연대와 환대를 바탕으로 원주민의 생태페미니즘 대안을 고찰한다. 본 연구는 시드 해밋(Sid Hammet)으로부터 태즈메이니아가 직면하고 있는 주제와 다른 문제들을 확인하고, 과거 식민지 시대에 문제들이 어떻게 시작되었는지 살펴볼 것이다. 또한 제국주의 렘프리오와 사령관의 서사를 통해 남성적 욕망이 자연에 미치는 파괴적 영향과 가부장제에서 왜곡된 여성성의 역할을 고찰하고자 한다. 게다가, 우리는 여성 캐릭터인 Twopenny Sal을 통해 다른 사람들에 대한 호주 원주민들의 철학을 공부할 것이다. 이를 통해 플래너건이 제시한 미래지향적 대안을 살펴보고, 이를 통해 세대간에 전해지는 식민주의의 트라우마를 단절하고 주체와 타인의 관계를 회복해 나갈 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the eco-imperialist aspects and ecofeminist alternatives revealed through Richard Flanagan’s Gould’s Book of Fish. Focusing on Flanagan’s novel Gould’s Book of Fish, this study examines the problems of the patriarchal system that desires possession and recognition in ecological imperialism and examines the ecofeminist alternative of Aborigines based on solidarity and hospitality. This study will identify the problems of the subject and the others that Tasmania is facing from the Sid Hammet, and will look at how the problems began in the past colonial period. In addition, through the narrative of the imperialist Lemprior and the commander, we will examine the destructive effect of masculine desire on nature and the role of distorted feminity in a patri- archal system. Moreover, we will study Aborigines’ philosophy of others through the female character Twopenny Sal. Through this, we will look at a future-oriented alternative suggested by Flanagan that cut off the trauma of colonialism transmitted between generations and recover the relationship between the subject and the others.
