어머니의 기질 및 임신 중 스트레스와 아동의 기질 간의 관계

초록

본 연구의 목적은 어머니의 기질 및 임신 중 스트레스와 아동의 기질 간의 관계를 알아보는 데 있다. 본 연구는 2세에서 7세 사이의 아동과 어머니 371쌍을 대상으로 진행하였으며, 수집된 자료의 분석을 위해 SPSS WIN 18.0 프로그램을 사용하였고, 상관분석, t-검증 및 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석을 통해 나온 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 기질과 아동의 기질 및 임신 중 스트레스 간에는 유의한 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 기질 중 정서성이 높은 집단은 낮은 집단에 비해 임신 중 스트레스를 더 높게 지각하는 것으로 나타났고, 어머니의 기질 중 사회성이 낮은 집단은 높은 집단에 비해 임신 중 스트레스를 더 높게 지각하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 기질 중 정서성과 임신 중 스트레스가 아동의 기질에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 어머니의 기질이 임신 중의 스트레스 지각과 경험 및 아동의 기질에 영향을 미치고 있음을 시사하며, 나아가 아동의 기질이 유전과 환경의 영향을 모두 받고 있음을 시사한다. 끝으로, 본 연구결과들이 갖는 제한점과 향후 연구의 방향에 관해 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether mothers’temperament and stress during pregnancy affect to the temperament of their children. 371 mother-child pairs participated in the study. The ages of the children ranged from 2 to 7. SPSS WIN 18.0 was used to analyze the data. Statistical procedures were correlation analysis, t-test, and multiple regression analysis. The results are as follows: 1) there were significant positive correlations between the three variables(mothers’temperament, stress during pregnancy, children’temperament); 2) mothers with higher emotionality were more perceptive to stress during pregnancy, and mothers with lower sociality were more perceptive to stress during pregnancy; and 3) it was shown that mothers’ temperament and stress during pregnancy significantly affect to the temperament of their children. These findings suggest that mothers’temperament affect to the perception and experience of stress during pregnancy and children’temperament, and that children’temperament are affected by both heredity and environment. Finally, the limitations of these findings were discussed and directions for future studies were also proposed.
