이 연구의 목표는 <사랑손님과 어머니>의 정전화 양상에 대한 사적 고찰을 통해 소설교육의 개선 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 소설교육에서 <사랑손님과 어머니>가 제재로 처음 도입된 4차 교육과정 이후 2009 개정 교육과정까지의 국어 교과서, 교사용 지도서 등을 살핀 후 그 변화 과정을 분석하고 정전화의 논리를 재구하였다. 정전화의 양상은 단원 배치, 수록 범위, 학습 활동, 작품 해설 등 다양한 측면에서 살필 수 있는데 여기에서는 단원의 차원, 학습의 초점, 해석의 차원으로 나눠 분석하였다. 이를 통해 첫째, 국어교육계가 예전(例典)의 논리를 바탕으로 이 소설이 지닌 교육 정전의 위상을 강화하였다는 점, 둘째, 이 소설을 특정한 해석 전통에 위치시킴으로써 교육 정전으로서 갖춰야 할 문학사적 가치를 입증하려 했다는 점을 밝혔다. 이러한 사적 검토를 바탕으로 정전화의 개선 방향도 모색하였다. 이 소설을 둘러싼 복수의 해석 전통과 이들 간의 논쟁이 작품 해설 및 학습 활동 구성에 반영되어야 한다는 것, 이 소설이 시점 및 서술 학습의 예전으로서 갖춰야 할 탐구 경험을 보다 체계적으로 제공할 수 있어야 한다는 것이 그것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to review transition of canon formation of <The Guest in Sarang Room and My Mother> in novel education critically, and find improvement plans. To achieve this, from the 4th national curriculum period that fist introduced <The Guest in Sarang Room and My Mother> to 2009 revised national curriculum period, textbooks, teachers guidebooks are examined. As a result, aspects and a logic of canon formation of this work are revealed. Aspects of canon formation is analyzed in dimensions of units, learning activities and interpretation. As a result, what this paper does quite clearly is that korean language education has strengthened this work`s presence as a educational canon for a point of view or narration and has positioned at a specially fixed interpretation tradition for proving the value of the korean literature history. To succeed outcome and overcome the limitations through referring foregoing historical consideration, improvement plans for canon formation of this work are suggested on introduction of interpretation traditions and systematization of experience of exploration.
