초록

Dytiscus marginalis czerskii Zaitzev, 1953 an endangered predatory diving beetle in Korea, inhabits cold-water habitats and is of potential industrial value as an educational and pet insect. This study presents the first complete mitochondrial genome (16,937 bp) of D. m. czerskii, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNAs, and two rRNAs. Maximum likelihood and Bayesian phylogenetic analyses based on the concatenated sequences of 13 PCGs recovered D. m. czerskii as sister to D. sharpi Wehncke with strong support, forming the monophyletic tribe Dytiscini. This mitogenome provides essential data for phylogenetic studies and is expected to aid in conservation efforts for this rare species.
