Abstract

The anemia is functionally best characterized by a hemoglobin concentration below normal. Anemia is a disorder in which the patient suffers from tissue hypoxia, the consequence of low oxygen-carrying capavity of the blood. The most classical studies of blood cell counting and morphologic observation were used to chamber count and microscopy, and useful indices such as MCV,MCH, MCHC to diagnosis about several red cell disorders. The two common methods of classification of anemia are morphologic and according to pathophysiologic cause. In the morphologic classification, anemia is subdicided into three large groups according to blood counts, cell indices, paricularly MCV. Anemia are classified in to the three morphologic groups on the basis of the MCV, and may also be classified by MCV and RDW. The pathophysiologic cause classification of anemia relates the disease process to the current concept of the two mechanisma or causes of anemia : anemia caused by decreased RBC production and by increased RBC destruction or loss. Subjects consist to take part in spontaneous of 225 students department of clinical pathology, Taegu Health Collage from sep., 1. 1997 to sep., 11 1997. Coulter Counter Gen-S was used for CBC. The results were as fellows; 1. Hemoglibin levels below than normal : 2.27% in male, 11.60% in female. 2. In the most of anemia, the decreased of MCV, MCH, and Mchc. But oncreased the values of RDW. 3. The diseases that disclosed low MCV and high RDW(microcytic heteogenous) to conclude Iron deficiency anemia by inappropriate diet of students.
