초록

Emotional experience is a prominent aspect of spectator sport consumption. However, ontology of emotions and their mechanisms are largely neglected in the extant literature. In a spectator sport setting, authors of this study speculate group emotion as an essential psychological predicate; review the relevant literature; and propose the Group Emotion Model (GEM). The model synthesizes theories of emotion and integrates scattered theories in the sports field into a unified framework. Specifically, antecedents forming perceived identification; the amplified group emotion at a sport consumption event; and psychological, attitudinal, and behavioral consequences with a reciprocal effect are proposed based on theoretical explanations.
