금강대도의 의례복식은 크게 3가지로 구분되는데 치성복식, 제향복식, 상례복식으로나누어진다. 치성복식으로는 도포형식인 법복과 한복으로 구분지어 지는데 법복은 금강대도를 대표하는 의례복식으로써 도주의 황색 법복과 도인들의 오방색 법복이 있다. 도주의 황색 법복은 황색의 위치는 오방 중 중앙이고 오행으로는 토의 색으로 오행을 자유자재로 주재하는 주재자 자리로 금강대도에선 도주를 의미한다. 이러한 의미로 도주들은 황색만을 복색으로 하고 도인들은 오방색을 모두 갖추어 우주의 이치를 순리적으로 따르며 신앙대상에게 기복을 바라는 의미로 오방색 복식착용을 한다. 제향의례 복식으로는 백의를 착용하는데 복식 전체를 흰색으로 착용한다. 금강도인은 건과 행전을 친다. 상례복식으로는 상복은 중복과 경복이 있다. 중복은 건과행전과 중단을 입는 것이고, 경복은 건과 행전과 두루마기를 착용하는 것이다. 금강대도에서는 행사시에 한복을 많이 입는다. 여기에서 금강대도의 상징적 특색이 잘 나타나는 복식이 법복인데 이 법복은 전체가 오방색으로 구성되어 있다. 이것은 음양오행의 이치를 담은 옷으로써 이 세상의 자연의 순리를 거스르지 않고 따르는 것이 도라는 것을 의미하는 것이고 또한 오행의 상생과 상극의 이치 속에서 사람의 나약함을 건곤부모에게 기대어 복을 바라는 기복적인 믿음의 발현이다. 이것이금강대도에서 법복을 입는 의미이며, 또한 오방색에 담겨진 음양오행의 이치를 종교적으로 승화시켰다는 점에서 의미가 있다고 본다.
Abstract
Ritual costumes of Geumgangdaedo are divided into three categories including devotion costume, incense rite costume and funeral rite costume. The devotion costume is divided into court dress taken the form of a dress suit and traditional Korean clothes (Hanbok), and the court dress is a ritual costume representing Geumgangdaedo composed of a yellow court suite for scholars and a five-color suit for ascetics. As for the yellow court suit for scholars, the yellow color is placed at the center of the five elements, and it is the color of the earth among the five elements and the position of the presiding officer who freely presides with the five elements, which means the master of Geumgangdaedo. In this sense, the masters wear only the yellow colored costumes, and the scholars wear the five-color dress in the sense of following the principle of the universe in a pure manner in hopes of relief to the subjects of the faith. As for the incense rite costume, white funeral clothes were worn. Geumgangdoin wears a head-cover and leggings. Meanwhile, funeral rite costumes are divided into Jung (formal) funeral garments and Gyeong (casual) funeral garments. Jung (formal) funeral garments include a head-cover, leggings and Jungdan, and Gyeong (casual) funeral garments include a head-cover, leggings and a Korean topcoat. In Geumgangdaedo, people often wear traditional Korean clothes (Hanbok). Here, the costume is a court suit fully representing symbolic characteristics of Geumgangdaedo, and the court suit is composed of a total of five colors. The dress contains the principle of Yin‐Yang Ohaeng, and it means that it is the right thing to follow the law of nature instead of going against it. It is also the manifestation of devotional faith that wishes fortune to lean on the parents of heaven and earth in the reason of co-prosperity and natural repugnance of the five elements. It is the meaning of a court suit worn in Geumgangdaedo, and it is also significant that, in this respect, the reason of Yin‐Yang Ohaeng involved in the five colors has been religiously sublimated.
