남자 고등학생의 권태성향과 분노행동 간의 관계

The Proneness to Boredom in the Behavioral Anger of Male High School Students : The Effects of Impulsiveness, Sensation Seeking, Low Frustration Tolerance, and Type A Personalities

본 연구는 남자 고등학생들을 대상으로 권태성향과 분노행동 간의 관계를 알아보는 한편, 분노행동을 예측하는 데 있어 권태성향 외에 다른 관련 변인들, 즉 충동성, 감각추구성향, 낮은 인내력, Type A 특성이 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 남자 고등학생 281명을 대상으로 권태성향척도 단축형의 외적 및 내적 자극요인에서 상, 하위 20%씩을 각각 외적 및 내적 권태성향 고, 저집단으로 분류하고 분노행동척도, 충동성, 감각추구, 낮은 인내력, Type A 척도 점수를 비교하였다. 외적 권태성향이 높은 집단은 낮은 집단에 비해 분노행동 중에서 직접표출 및 반추를 더 많이 하는 경향이 있었으며, 더 충동적, 감각추구적이고, 인내력도 낮았던 반면, 내적 권태성향이 높은 집단은 낮은 집단에 비해 분노행동 중에서 자기표현 및 분산을 덜 하며, 충동적, 감각추구적인 성향과 Type A 특성도 적었다. 분노행동 예측을 위한 위계적 회귀분석결과, 외적 권태성향이 직접표출 및 반추를, 내적 권태성향이 자기표현 및 분산을 예측하는 능력은 충동성, 감각추구, 낮은 인내력, 그리고 Type A 성향 변인을 투입한 후에도 유의미하게 남아 있었다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점과 후속연구를 위한 제언이 논의되었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the role of the proneness to boredom in behavioral anger. In addition, the factors of impulsiveness, sensation seeking, low frustration tolerance, and Type A personalities were included to determine the potential effects of these variables on the relationships between the proneness to boredom and behavioral anger. Two hundred and eighty-one high school boys were administered measures of proneness to boredom, behavioral anger, impulsiveness, sensation seeking, low frustration tolerance, and Type A personalities. Our results demonstrated that external or internal proneness to boredom had different effects on behavioral anger. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses showed that the relationships between external proneness to boredom and direct anger-out and rumination, and those between internal proneness to boredom and assertion and avoidance persisted even after accounting for impulsiveness, sensation seeking, low frustration tolerance, and Type A personalities.
