중국의 지역별 도시와 소득불평등 원인에 관한 연구

초록

중국의 도시와 농촌 간 소득불평등에 관한 기존의 연구들은 중국을 도시와 농촌지역으로 구분한 후, 일반적으로 엔트로피지수를 사용하여 소득불평등의 추세를 규명하는 것이 대부분이었다. 이러한 연구는 중국내 소득불평등의 원인을 객관적으로 제시할 수 없을 뿐만 아니라, 중국이 지역별로 상이한 경제구조를 가지고 있다는 특징을 반영할 수 없다는 한계가 있다. 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위해 본 논문에서는 중국의 도시와 농촌 간 소득불평등의 원인을 분석하는데 초점을 맞추고, 중국의 도시와 농촌의 소득불평등에 영향을 미치는 설명변수로 산업화, 중앙집권화 및 개방화를 사용하였다. 실증분석 결과, 지역별로 상이한 결과를 나타내었다. 먼저 산업화는 모든 지역의 도시와 농촌 간 소득불평등을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 중앙집권화의 경우는 중국전체와 서부, 중부지역에서는 유의하지 않은 결과를 나타내었지만, 서부지역의 도시와 농촌 간 소득불평등은 증가시키는 결과를 나타냈다. 또한 개방화의 경우에는 각 지역마다 상이한 결과를 나타내었다. 중국 전체의 경우와 연해지역에서는 개방화가 중국의 도시와 농촌 간 소득불평등을 증가시키는 결과를 나타낸 반면, 서부지역의 경우는 개방화가 오히려 도시와 농촌 간 소득불평등을 감소시킨다는 결과를 나타내었다. 중부지역에서는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

This paper concentrates on the inequality of income between urban and rural in China. The previous studies on inequality of income in China were mainly about identifying the trend of inequality of income using Standard Generalized Entropy by classifying urban and rural area in country base. However, this research method had weak points that it could not provide the cause of inequality objectively and there is no reflection that the structure of economy could be varied by each region in China. To cover this weak points, in this paper, the cause of inequality of income between urban and rural in China is researched by using regression. And the panel data of each province(whole country, coastal area, central area and western area) which is from 1993 to 2002 was classified 4 region and analyzed to conduct the feature for each region. The industrialization, centralization and openness are used as explanatory variables which affect the inequality in earning for urban and rural of China. The result of analysis is appeared to be varied in each region. Firstly, the industrialization increased the inequality of income for both urban and rural. In the case of centralization, the result showed that it is not significant in whole country. It increases the inequality of income between urban and rural in western area. And in the case of openness, the result is varied in each region. The openness for the whole country and coastal area resulted as increasing the inequality of income between urban and rural, but the result was not significant in central area. However, in the case of western area, the result showed that the openness decreased the inequality of income between urban and rural in China. This result shows that the regional analysis provides more specific and practical results in inequality of income in China.
