<Abstract> Overcoming postmodern standpoints about Nietzsche Kim, Jin-Sok(Inha University) Postmodern thoughts are indebted to Nietzsche for its great success, above all other texts. And Nietzsche also owes postmodern thoughts much gratitude. So their relation is very close and interrelated. But from the standpoint of the present, postmodern interpretations about Nietzsche could or should be in some aspects shored up and revised. For example, Derrida and Deleuze have sought to find out some possibility of 'the new politics', but they seem to have over-interpreted the decoding aspects of Nietzschean texts. In my opinion, there are in his texts no less recoding points than decoding lines. He has focused his minds on the hierarchy of values, and that seems to have conservative or ontological character. At this point I find some dislocation between the philosophical and the political. For it is hard to believe that 'the noble strong man' is in reality equal to the dominant. So he cannot open in simple and straight way the new politics. Discovering this dislocation between the philosophical and the political would however be neither harmful nor without benefits. To read Nietzsche today, we need to respect all the perspectives of his texts, how strong or weak they may be.
