윤양래 유배시조의 구성과 특성 고찰

윤양래의 유배시집(流配詩集)『갑극만영(甲棘漫詠)』에는 갑산(甲山) 유배 시에 창작한 19수의 유배시조가 수록되어 있다. 그의 시조는 관북(關北)의 지역적 특성을 잘 보여 준다는 점과 한 편의 작품으로 읽을 수 있을 정도로 개연성 있게 구성되었다는 점에서 주목할 만하다. 윤양래 시조의 주조를 이루는 것은 가족과 고향에 대한 그리움, 자신의 처지에 대한 탄식, 운명론적 초월의식이다. 그런데 이러한 주제가 무질서하게 여기저기 흩어져 나타나지 않고 비슷한 주제의 작품들끼리 모여 있으며, ‘가족에 대한 절절한 그리움-자신의 처지에 대한 탄식과 자위(自慰)-임금에 대한 그리움과 과거에 대한 회고-세상 사람들에 대한 개탄-유배 생활의 실상-세상사에 대한 초월적 태도’의 순서로 펼쳐져 있어 작자의 유배 생활의 실상과 내면 의식의 변화를 파악할 수 있다. 유기적 구성 외에 윤양래 시조의 또 하나의 특징으로 관북의 지역적 특성이 잘 드러난다는 점을 들 수 있다. 그의 시조에서는 지명을 직접 제시함으로써 그 지명이 갖는 인문지리적 심상을 통해 자신이 처한 상황과 작품의 배경을 효율적으로 전달하였으며, 추위와 바람, 척박한 자연환경에 대한 사실적 묘사를 통해 유배객의 고통과 심리를 효과적으로 표현하였다. 또한 ‘봉화’, ‘매화’와 같은 개성 있는 시어를 사용하여 도성에서 멀리 떨어진 원지(遠地), 변방(邊方)의 이미지를 실감나게 표출하였다. 윤양래 시조에서는 의인법과 대화체의 사용 및 중의성을 띠는 작품이 다수 발견되는데, 이로 인해 그의 시조는 대부분의 유배시조에서 나타나는 유배객의 한탄, 사향(思鄕), 세상에 대한 원망과 울분, 관습적인 연군 의식 등을 일방적으로 토로하는 평면적인 시조와는 변별되는 입체성을 띠게 되었다.
Abstract
Yoon Yang-rae's GapgeukManyeong(甲棘漫詠) contains the 19 numbers of exile Sijo(時調) created during his exile in Gapsan(甲山). It is noteworthy that his sijos show the regional characteristics of the Gwanbuk(關北) region well and that it consists of a probable composition that can be read as a unified work. The main currents of Yun Yang-rae's sijo are longing for family and hometown, a lamentation over one's situation, and a sense of transcendence in fatalism. However, these themes are not scattered here and there, but similar works are unfolded in the order of "Desperate longing for family - Lamentation and self-consolation for one's situation - Longing for the King and reminiscing about the past -Deplore for the people - the reality of life in exile - a transcendental attitude toward world affairs". It's possible to understand the writer's life in exile and the changes in his inner consciousness. In addition to the organic composition, another characteristic of Yun Yang-rae's sijo is that the regional characteristics of the Gwanbuk region are well revealed. In his sijo, by presenting the place name directly, he effectively conveyed the situation he was in and the background of the work through the human geographic imagery of the place name. Through the realistic description of the cold, windy, and barren natural environment, it expressed effectively the pain and psychology of the exile. In addition, by using unique poetic words such as ‘Bonghwa-signal fire-’, ‘Maewha-apricot flower-’, it expressed realistically the images of distant lands(遠地) from the capital city and the outer area. In a number of works of Yun Yang-rae's sijo, personification, use of dialogue, and ambiguity could be found. As a result, his sijo has a three-dimensionality and is different from the flat Sijo that unilaterally expresses the exile's lamentation, thinking about home, resentment, and anger toward the world, and conventional consciousness of longing for the King that appears in most exiled sijo.
