<이상한 변호사 우영우>는 사회적 약자와 생태계 희생자를 균형 있게 관찰하고 그들이 직면한 위기를 종합적으로 고찰한 작품이다. 각 회차 서사에서는 사회적 강자에 의해 피해를 입고 사회의 폭력적 구도에서 소외되는 약자들이 다수 등장하고 있다. 또한 각 회차 서사에는 다양한 고래를 소개하고 그 생태적 습성을 알려주는 정보와 이미지가 출몰하고 있다. 사회 생태학적 관점에서 사회적 약자는 인간 사회의 희생자에 해당하며, 강자에 의한 폭압을 드러내는 효과적 소재이자 상징으로 활용될 수 있다. 심층 생태론의 입장에서 고래의 생태 환경을 위협하는 존재는 인간이다. 인간은 고래를 비롯한 자연과 생태 환경을 파괴하는 주범이다. 그래서 이 작품에서 강자와 인간은 폭력과 권력을 지닌 존재로 동일시될 수 있으며, 이에 대항하여 약자와 소외자 그리고 희생자와 동식물은 피해자로 전제될 수 있다. <이상한 변호사 우영우>는 이러한 소외된 인간의 처지와 인간에게 핍박당하는 자연의 처지를 함께 보여 주고 그 원인을 생각하도록 유도하고 있다.
Abstract
<Extraordinary Attorney Woo> is a television drama that observes the socially disadvantaged and the victims of the ecosystem in a balanced manner and comprehensively examines the crises they face. In each episode, many weak people who are harmed by the socially powerful and marginalized by the violent structure of society appear. In addition, each episode's narrative introduces various whales and contains information and images that explain their ecological habits. From a Social Ecological perspective, the socially disadvantaged are victims of human society, and can be used as effective materials and symbols to reveal the tyranny of the powerful. From the perspective of deep ecology, the beings that threaten the ecological environment of whales are humans. Humans are the main culprits who destroy nature and the ecological environment, including whales. So in <Extraordinary Attorney Woo>, the strong and humans can be identified as beings with violence and power, and in contrast, the weak and the marginalized, victims, plants and animals can be assumed as victims. <Extraordinary Attorney Woo> shows the situation of marginalized humans and the situation of persecuted siblings together, and leads us to think about the cause.
