PAI-A를 활용한 소년원 재입원 결정요인 탐색:최초입원ㆍ재입원 소년범 비교를 중심으로

초록

연구는 소년원에 입원한 소년범을 대상으로 최초입원 소년원생과 재입원 소년원생 간의 정신건강 및 범죄요인의 차이를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 PAI-A 척도를 활용하여 소년원 재입원 여부를 예측할 수 있는지를 조사하였다. 총 140명의 소년원생을 대상으로 PAI-A, 범죄요인, 인구통계학적 정보를 수집하였다. 연구 결과, 최초입원ㆍ재입원 소년범 간의 조증, 경계선적 특징, 반사회적 특징, 알코올 문제, 스트레스의 평균점수에서 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 유의한 변인 간의 상관분석에서도 각 척도 간의 유의미한 상관을 확인할 수 있었다. 유의미한 상관을 나타낸 4가지 변인으로부터 추출한 외현화 변인과 정신병력 진단 유무를 독립변인으로 하는 회귀모형을 검증한 결과, 소년원생의 재입원 유무를 유의미하게 예측하였다. 이러한 결과는 소년원생의 외현화 성격 특성과 정신병력 진단 경험이 재입원 가능성과 밀접한 관련이 있는 요인임을 보여줌으로써, 소년원생의 성격 특성을 고려한 적절한 치료적 개입 및 소년원 내 생활 처우 제공에 있어 시사점을 제공한다.

Abstract

This study uses PAI-A to investigate the differences in mental health and criminal factors between a group of adolescents incarcerated for the first time and another group who have been detained before for the prediction of recidivism. PAI-A, criminal factors, and demographic information were collected from a total of 140 adolescent detainees. The results not only indicated significant differences between the first-time detained and re-detained adolescents in terms of mania, borderline features, antisocial feathers, and alcohol problems, but these variables were also significantly correlated between each scale. The variable, which encompassed the 4 factors listed above, is an independent variable that explained externalizing personality traits of juvenile detainees and significantly predicted the recidivism rate of incarcerated adolescents. As a result of logistic regression, the externalizing personality traits and the history of mental illness are closely related to the possibility of re-admission. Thus, this study suggests that considering the personality traits of each juvenile detainee is essential in order to apply appropriate therapeutic interventions and treatments for the prevention of recidivism.
