부천지역학의 콘텐츠로서 펄 벅의 다문화사상과 대중문학 고찰

Abstract

This article points out modern direction developing the area study and according to that aims to set down Perl S. Buck’s benevolent spirit, multicultural Thought and glocal citizenship as a main content of Bucheon’s Area Studies, In order to achieve the object of this study, I investigated Perl S. Buck’s thought of cultural diversity in her practical life and literature and established glocal citizenship in her popular literature. As follows is suggested on the conclusion. The first suggestion is that through Bucheon’s Area Studies will Perl S. Buck’s benevolent spirit give a important spiritual base for strengthen of Bucheon’s citizen identity and community’s consciousness along with the spirit of life and the spirit of sharing. Second is that Perl S. Buck’s multicultural life and multicultural Thought must be developed as a main content of Bucheon’s Area Studies, because they can be utilized as a practical model for cultural education in home and abroad cities which enter a multicultural society including Bucheon. Finally, it is that glocal citizenship in Perl S. Buck’s popular literature can enough be developed as a main content of Bucheon’s Area Studies for Bucheon’s sustainable future development , because it could play a crucial role in form and enhance of Bucheon’s new citizenship suitable to UNESCO the Creative Cities Network.
