초록

오랫동안 유지해 온 유아교육과 보육의 이원화 체제에서 벗어나 유보통합이 시작하는 시점에 본 연구는 유아교육과정에서 돌봄의 위치를 살펴보고 제대로 자리매김하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 여성주의 돌봄 윤리를 중심으로 돌봄의 재개념화 연구들을 고찰하고, 유아교육과정에서 교육과 돌봄의 얽힘을 주장하며 북유럽 국가인 핀란드, 노르웨이, 스웨덴의 국가유아교육과정에서 명시된 돌봄을 분석하였다. 국가교육과정 문서에 ‘돌봄’ 용어의 배제는 돌봄보다 교육을 중시함을 암시하고 암묵적으로 교육과 돌봄의 위계를 형성한다고 지적하면서, 유보통합에 따라 새롭게 제정될 0-5세 유아교육과정에서 돌봄을 교육과정의 성격, 교육내용, 교수학습 원리에 명시적으로 기술할 것을 제안하였다.

Abstract

As the long-standing dual system of early childhood education and care is undergoing integration in Korea, this study seeks to explore and appropriately define the role of care within the early childhood curriculum. To achieve this, the study reviews research on the reconceptualization of care, particularly from the perspective of feminist care ethics, and argues for the interweaving of education and care in the early childhood education curriculum. The study also analyzes how care is explicitly stated in the national early childhood education curricula of Nordic countries, including Finland, Norway, and Sweden. It points out that the exclusion of the term “care” from national curriculum documents implies a greater emphasis on education over care, thereby implicitly creating a hierarchy between the two. Given the ongoing integration of early childhood education and care in Korea, this study proposes that the new curriculum for children aged 0-5 should explicitly incorporate care into its educational goals, content, and teaching and learning principles.
