초록
Reflecting personal feeling and thought is one of the major themes in contemporary art, but it was not common in the past, especially in Chinese art. By focusing on one Chinese museum, the Pan Tianshou Memorial Museum, as a case study, this project explores how the collection is a mirror of the times in which the artist lived and now it vividly conveys history for contemporary viewers. The Pan Tianshou Memorial Museum is a good example to show the harmony between artistry and popularity and the balance between regional and international networks. It reveals the incomprehensible aspects of the contested histories inherent to the human race and simultaneously how it plays an active role in peacefully speaking to us about one dramatic story in modern China.
