지역활성화 방안으로서 한국의 ‘문화도시’와 일본의 ‘창조도시’ 전략 비교 연구

Abstract

Regional and regional cities have reached limitations in many ways, and the rapid urbanization and industrialization based on economic logic has pursued only the uniform growth of all cities. This has acted as a factor causing regions and cities to lose their own personality and charm. The low birth rate, aging population, and concentration of population in the metropolitan area are heightening the sense of crisis regarding regional extinction, and the economic structure centered on the metropolitan area has acted as one of the main causes of shrinking local cities. Most regions and cities around the world have experienced limitations in urban expansion-oriented economic development during the previous era of high-speed growth and have begun to seek various alternatives. Cities facing these problems planned the creation of spaces using 'culture' and the provision of local residents' benefits through 'culture' and proposed policy strategic measures. Therefore, this paper examines the direction and meaning of recent policies on the "cultural city" and Japan's Cultural Office-led "creative city" strategy, focusing on various discussions underway to revitalize regions and cities using culture. It compares and analyzes Korea and Japan's "urban revitalization strategies based on regional-oriented cultural contents" to explore the possibility and prospects of becoming a "sustainable cultural city" in the future.
