초록
In this study, we summarized the fundamental structure and key considerations for designing traditional ogee-crested weirs and labyrinth weirs, including TLW, PKLW, and CLW. We quantitatively compared the overflow discharge capacity of each weir based on the unit width discharge. When the overflow head is smaller, the discharge capacity of the labyrinth weirs approaches the ratio of the weir length to the channel width, compared to that of the ogee-crested weir. As the overflow depth increases, the discharge capacity of each labyrinth weir gradually decreases and converges to that of the ogee-crested weir. Specifically, at the design head, the overflow discharge capacity of PKLW is approximately 1.35 times that of the ogee-crested weir, while CLW is about 1.04 times. Interestingly, PKLW has a similar discharge capacity to TLW with sidewall angles ranging from 10 to 15 degrees, but PKLW requires a smaller installation area than TLW.
