전주 화교사회를 통해 본 한국 화교의 고찰

Abstract

The history of Chinese community could trace back to 100 years ago continuing more than 3 generations. However, it is really hard to write history of Chinese immigration in Korea due to a couple of reasons; firstly, the first generation settlers died, secondly the 2nd generation are also dying out without leaving any written document of their history, and the 3rd generation are assimilated to Korean culture or are departing for their own livings different from their ancestors. As such, it is at least very important to write a history of those by interviewing those remaining 2nd generation.
