이 글은 豫菴 河友賢이 지녔던 持敬의 삶과 그 학문(특히 經學)에 대한 태도에 대하여 살펴볼 것을 목적으로 한다. 예암은 자신을 士로 의식하면서 학문과 뜻을 곧추세우려고 노력하였다. 그는 특히 友人들과의 도학적 교유를 통해서 孤寂한 自尊感을 다져나갔다. 아울러 이를 바탕으로 도학에 대한 지속적인 경서 학습을 수행하였다. 그 결과 中庸의 敬에 근원을 둔 것으로 보이는 持敬을 자신의 삶의 태도로 갖추어 나간 것으로 이해된다. 예암은 功名과 經學은 별개로 보았고 나아가 경학을 통한 세속적 욕망을 추구하지 않았으며, 그리하여 경학 자체를 위한 공부를 추구하지도 않았다. 그에게 경학은 자신의 삶을 벼리는 기준이었고 태도였으며 입장이었다.
Abstract
This article aims to review Yeam Ha Woo-Hyun's 士意識 of 持敬 and its academic attitude. Ye-am, conscious of himself as a Sa(士), tried to straighten her learning and will. In particular, he strengthened his self-esteem through studying abroad with his friends. Based on this, he continued to study the scriptures for study abroad. In particular, he developed his attitude toward life to the extent that it appears to have been rooted in the 敬 of 『中庸』. He viewed the study of wealth and wealth and Confucianism as separate studies, did not pursue desires through economics, and furthermore, did not make the study of Confucianism the goal itself. For him, The study of Confucianism(經學) was his attitude and position in life.
