Abstract
This research studies newly established firms that create resource and capability. The resource and capability received through pre-entry experience and those gained through post-entry experience are compared, and the manner in which both influence a firm’s growth is analyzed. In order to understand the growth of firms, the aim of this study is to compare the effects of pre-entry experience and post-entry experience. Empirical results demonstrate that pre-entry experience and post-entry experience have various impacts on the growth of firms. Each post-entry experience has different impacts on short-term and long-term results. The study verifies that post-entry effort with regard to human resources benefits short-term growth and post-entry experience for R&D activities does long-term growth.
