Abstract
For the diagnosis of liver disease, the blood teats and ultrasonography are mainly used. The difference between two methods was evaluated in this study. Comparisons between the blood test and the ultrasonography were performed based on the 885 persons coming to the Health Promotion Center from July to October, 1999. By the ultrasonography, they were classified that normal, fatty liver, hepatic cyst, gallbladder (GB) stone and clonorchiasis were 520(58.8%), 277(3 1.3%), 54(6.1%), 23(2.6%) and 11 persons (1.2%), respectively. And the blood tests such as TC, ALT, ALP, GGT, HDL-C and GLU have good relations with the extent of fatty liver. When the blood tests were normal and the ultrasonography was abnormal, AST, ALT, TC, GGT and TG were 5.2, 4.4, 19.2, 2.8 and 2.5%, respectively, while for the case of the opposite, AST, ALT, TC, GGT and TG were 32.8, 30.4, 21.4,37.4 and 35.0%, respectively. Therefore, it was concluded the blood tests and ultrasonography should be performed simultaneously for the general medical examination.
