Abstract
This study analyzed the effects of body measurements and blood lipid levels on the fatty liver grade by gen- der-specific differences. The study retrospectively analyzed 1,643 individuals (928 men, 715 women) who underwent health check-ups at a health examination center in Cheongju from August 2020 to October 2022. Body measurements and blood lipid levels were used as independent variables, while fatty liver grades diagnosed by ultrasound were used as the dependent varia- ble to develop the predictive factors through multinomial logistic regression. The results showed that for men, age, trigly- cerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), and waist circumference (WC) were significant predictors of fatty liv- er disease, with age, TG, and WC having a substantial impact. For women, TG and WC emerged as the main predictors. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis demonstrated high area under the curve (AUC) values for WC and TG in both men and women, confirming their importance as predictive indicators for fatty liver disease. The WC cut-off points for men were between 82.6 cm and 93.8 cm, while for women, they were between 76.6 cm and 86.9 cm. This study suggests a non-invasive predictive model for fatty liver disease using body measurements and blood lipid levels by gender-specific differences.
