Recently, pilot symbol-assisted or pilot channel-assisted method has been used for coherent reverse-link channels. In the presence of the pilot channel, an adaptive beamforming technique is proposed for coherent detection of a direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) reverse-link with antenna arrays. The technique simultaneously uses the least mean squares and constant modulus algorithms to find the beamforming vector.
