캐릭터 액팅 데이터베이스(CADb) 구축을 위한 기초연구

Abstract

Character & Acting Database (CADb) is the database capable of searching specific scenes out of many different films containing a specific character's emotional state in a specific circumstance through combining his/her physiological, sociological and psychological elements and the situations such as place, incident and character relationship. It provides the visual references for actors, directors and character designers to help improving their performances in practice. This essay examines some examples of existing online database worth benchmarking and defines the major characteristics and functions of CADb differentiating from the pre-existing analogous databases. Then, it presents the analyzing principles, classifying elements and searching methods of the database in detail. It also predicts some values and problems in its practical application. CADb is an ongoing project in its preliminary stage of D-Lab, the research laboratory attached to the Department of Performance and Film, Dankook University.
