문학사를 통해 본 무용사의 한 국면

전통무용에 대한 인식을 심화·확장하기 위해서 문학사와 무용사의 통합을 시도할 때 무용의 기원에 관한 문헌설화를 주목하게 된다. 춤 발생설화에 나타난 춤의 생성원리는 신의 계시, 신의 출현, 인간에 의한 신춤의 모방, 사자(死者)의 생전의 춤의 재연, 기존 춤의 개작 등이다. 이 가운데 개작설은 상징적·심리적 무용관에 해당하고, 나머지는 모두 신화적·주술적 사고의 산물이다. 이를 통해 볼 때 신화적·주술적 무용관에서 상징적·심리적 무용관으로 변모해왔다는 추정이 가능하다.판소리 <변강쇠가>에는 신화적·주술적 무용관에 대한 불신과 회의가 나타나고, 민속탈춤의 대사 속에는 풍류설과 안무설 같은 새로운 무용관이 확인된다. 따라서 전통무용에 대한 ‘사실의 역사’만이 아니라 ‘인식의 역사’에 대한 지평을 확장하기 위해서 문학학, 음악학, 연극학, 공연학, 민속학, 역사학 등의 관점에서 다각적인 접근이 시도되어야겠다.
Abstract
An Essay for the Combination of Literary History and History of Dance―Focused on the principles of the formation of traditional dancePark, Jin-Tae(Prof. of Daegu Univ.)1. A literary history and a history of dance must be combined for the expansion of the cognition about the traditional dance.2. The legends about the origin of the ancient dance imply the principles of the formation of dancing.3. The principles of the formation of dancing are revelation, magical sound, appearance, imitation, repeat performance and adaptation.4. The adaptation-theory is the product of the symbolic and psychological cognition about the origin of dance, and the others are the products of the mythic and magic thinking.5. The dance view had converted from the symbolic and psychological dance view to the mythic and magic dance view.6. Judging from the symbolic and psychological dance view we can find musical power and choreography in the dialogue of the folk mask dance. 7. The diversified approach to the traditional dance must be attempted at the view points of literature, musicology, folklore, historical science and the like.
