초록
한국교회의 복음적 영적 갱신을 향한 과제는 무엇일까? 그 중 하나는 영성운동의 현장 속에서 육감적 체험이나 가시적 현상을 복음의 본질보다 더 중시하는 경향성을 극복하는 일이다. 그리고 또 한 가지는 교회 분열의 주된 동기가 될 수 있는 극단적 갱신주의 성향을 치유하는 일이다. 필자는 이 두 가지 문제점이 네오-몬타니즘(Neo-Montanism) 성향의 영성운동에 있다고 보고, 네오-몬타니즘의 정의와 특성에 대해서 살펴본다. 이어서 한국교회사 속에서 네오-몬타니즘 성향의 대표적인 사례들을 한두 가지 소개한다. 그리고 이러한 교회사적 평가의 잣대를 가지고 최근 한국교회 내에 우려감이 높아져 온 몇몇 대표적 운동과 교회에 대한 진단과 권면을 한다. 그리고 끝으로는 네오-몬타니즘에 맞서서 한국교회가 갖추어야 할 효과적인 대응 자세는 어떠해야 하는지에 대해 살펴본다. 이 논문을 통해 저자는 한국교회에 기승하고 있는 네오-몬타니즘에 대한 대응 자세로서 무엇보다도 가장 절실한 것은 신학적으로 그리고 교단적으로 권위 있는 이단분별위원회가 범교단적으로 구성되어 제 구실을 다 해야 할 것을 강조한다. 그리고 이단 분별에 있어서, 특정 인물이나 집단에게 네오-몬타니즘 성향의 특성이 어느 정도 심각성이 있는지를 평가할 수 있는 교회사적 분별법을 사용할 것을 제안한다.
Abstract
Neo-Montanism in the History of Korean ChurchBon-Chul Bae(Sungkyul University, Historical Theology)Many says that the Korean Church nowaday should be renewed as a whole, or she will be declined and eventually faded away. What then would be the solution for the spiritual renewal of Korean Church? I am convinced that, first of all, we need to overcome and defeat the exceedingly experimental or phenomenal tendencies in spiritual movements. The real problem is that some misguiders much more stress the tendencies than the real essence of the gospel in their prayer meetings. Second is this; regarding the ecclesiology, we must remedy the radical renewalism that can be the serious factor of the schism. Both problems above mentioned are all based on the tendency of Neo-Montanism which resembles Montanism that was occurred in Ancient Christianity. I will introduce the definition of it, and search the clue of its rise and characteristics. Then I will unveil the hidden cases of the representative Neo-Montanism throughout the history of Korean Church. Some heretical movements will be shown by my diagnostic evaluation. Furthermore, I will maintain the importance of discriminating suspicious groups whether they are how much like Neo-Montanism. More than over, special committee will be needed for the more effectual examination, and this shall be connected with the authorized members who are qualified theologically and denominationally. I finally suggest that the committee are to utilize the method of historical discrimination to testify the suspicious groups.
