이 연구는 녹내장 시각장애인의 시각환경 특성과 그에 대한 지원 요구를 알아보려고 녹내장 시각장애학생 2명과 교사 2명을 개별 심층면담하여 그에 관한 결과를 논의하였다. 연구의 타당성과 신뢰성을 확보하려고 연구 참여자 확인과 외부 감사를 진행하였다. 자료 분석을 통해 5개 대주제와 12개 하위주제가 정리되었다. 녹내장 시각장애인이 경험한 시각환경과 지원 요구에 대한 결론을 종합하면 다음과 같다. 녹내장으로 인한 시력 저하와 시야 협착 및 대비, 광감도 저하 등의 문제가 진행 경과에 따라 다양하게 나타나므로 이러한 시각환경 특성을 고려한 적합한 물리적 환경 구성, 문자매체와 생활 지원, 녹내장에 대한 다양한 의료정보 제공, 심리 안정 등을 위한 지원이 강구되어야 한다. 아울러 지속적이고 안정적으로 녹내장 관리가 이루어지도록 하기 위한 생활 속 지원책 마련도 체계적으로 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각된다.
Abstract
The aims of this study were to look into the experiences of people visual impairments caused by glaucoma and define the necessary aids to assist them in daily lives. 2 students and 2 teachers, all with visual impairments by glaucoma, joined an in-depth interview for the study. The confirmation of participant and external audit was needed to gain the validity and reliability of study. The results were presented by 5 main themes and 12 sub-themes. Visual impairments by glaucoma and needed supports found from the study are concluded as follows. Participants shared that they were suffering from several types of eyesight deterioration, visual field loss, and lower contrast and light sensitivities depending on the progress of the disease. Thus, appropriate environmental modifications, learning media assessment, valid support for daily activities, medical information and psychological support services are much in need for them. Moreover, continual and steady supports for glaucoma control in daily life should be addressed on a systematical base.
